    By contributing to the prize fund, you will become eligible to win Net/Gross prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd (by flight) and flighted skins. Valid USGA Handicap is required to participate.

     
    PAYOUTS & AMATEUR STATUS: All of our cash side games (prize fund & skins) are OPTIONAL for each player and is considered an acceptable form of gambling according to the Rules of Amateur Status.

     
    Please provide your GHIN # or instructions on how to verify your golf handicap when you register. If you would like to request to play with a certain player or group, use the “Additional Information – Order Notes” field when you checkout.

 
CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY:

The Premier Golf Club adheres to a NO REFUND POLICY. Due to our credit card merchants policy (Paypal) to not return processing fees (2.9% + $0.30) for refunds issued, your entry will be kept as credit towards a future event. YOU HAVE ONE YEAR FROM THE CANCELLATION DATE TO USE YOUR CREDIT. A tournament credit may be issued only if canceled within the advised 24-hour window.

 
All player bookings for this event must be canceled directly with the Tournament Director no later than 24 hours prior to day of play. If your reservation is NOT CANCELLED by this time OR you are a “no show”, you will forfeit your tournament fee and you will not be eligible for a tournament credit*. If you cancel reservation within the 24 hour window, you will receive a credit for the the next tournament you play in.

 
*Per our agreement with the golf course, we must guarantee a certain amount of golfers at the time of the event. This “final player count” is given to the course 24 hours before the start of the event. If we do not meet the agreed player count on the day of the event, the golf course has the right to charge us for any missing players. Therefore, if you cancel after the mandatory cancellation period, your fee will be forfeited and a tournament credit will not be issued.

 
PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT POLICY:

The Premier Golf Club has an expectation that each player adheres to commonly accepted standards of golfing etiquette during competition and exemplary behavior (off course) at all times as they are representing our club. Failure to do so will result in a revoked membership with no refund and a permanent ban from future tournaments.

Join us on Saturday, June 17th at WeKoPa Golf Club (Cholla) for the Annual Premier Golf Club 2-Person Shamble Tournament! The event is a two-person modified scramble (shamble), played at gross and net within flights. Prizes will be awarded to the top three gross and net winners in each flight. There is also an optional gross/net skins game by flight.

FORMAT:
The event format is a two-person modified scramble (shamble). Each player hits a tee-shot, the team selects the best tee-shot and each player plays their own ball from that point until it is holed. The lower of the two scores, is the team score for the hole.

 
All TEAM HANDICAPS will be determined by taking 60% of Player A’s course handicap and 40% of Player B and combining them to create a team course handicap . All FLIGHTS will be determined by total team handicap index. The maximum difference in handicap index is 10 strokes but if members want to enter with a partner whose handicap is more than this difference, the higher handicap will be adjusted downward.

 
60/40 CALCULATION IN DETAIL:
Calculations for this type of events are based on Individual Course Handicap, each player gets a Course Handicap Calculated, we then take the sum of 60% of the low handicap and 40% of the high handicap

  • Team player A has an index of 8.3 and Team Player B has an index of 14.5, they play on a course with a slope of 132, course rating of 70.2 and par of 71.
  • Player Course Handicaps are 9 (8.3*(132/113)+(70.2-71)) and 16 (14.5*(132/113)+(70.2-71))
  • Team Course Handicap is 9*0.6 (5.4) + 16*0.4 (6.4) = 11.8 => Rounded to 12

If you don’t have a handicap, don’t worry! You can play for fun! However, a verifiable USGA golf handicap is required if you are participating in the prize fund ($20 per person). An optional flighted skins game ($20) will also be available on the day of the event.
